Rebates for insulation upgrades are offered through the Greener Homes Grant to owners of:
- Single and semi-detached houses
- Row housing
- Townhomes
- All-season cottages
- Mobile homes on a permanent foundation
- Permanently-moored floating homes
- Mixed-use buildings (residential portion only)
- Small multi-unit residential building (three storeys or less with a footprint of 600m2 or less)
The following must be done:
Perform a pre-and post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation (residents of Quebec and Nova Scotia should apply directly to their provincial programs for their EnerGuide evaluation)
Complete at least one retrofit that is both eligible and recommended by your energy advisor. In order to receive reimbursement, homeowners must complete one or more retrofits.
Be sure to provide and keep copies of all your documents through March 31, 2028.
The products must be purchased in Canada. Only purchases made from a Canadian distributor online are eligible.
- Up to $600 for the pre-and post-work home energy audits (EnerGuide evaluations).
- Up to $1,800 for attic/ceiling insulation.
- Up to $5,000 for exterior wall insulation.
- Up to $350 for exposed floor insulation.
- Up to $400 for basement slab insulation.
- Up to $1,000 for air sealing upgrades.
- Up to $1,500 for basement wall insulation.
- Up to $1,300 for crawl space wall insulation OR up to $800 for crawlspace ceiling insulation. If a homeowner is also insulating the basement, the maximum they can receive for insulating both areas is $1,500
