Ontario Home Energy Rebates and Financing
Ontario homeowners may qualify for energy efficiency rebates and financing when upgrading insulation, heating and cooling systems, or other qualifying home improvements. Programs available in 2026 include Ontario utility rebates and select federal financing options. Eligibility, rebate amounts, and requirements vary by program.
Ontario Home Renovation Savings Program
The Home Renovation Savings Program is Ontario’s primary active home energy rebate program. Delivered through Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas, the program offers rebates for eligible energy-efficient upgrades such as attic insulation improvements, heat pumps, smart thermostats, and other qualifying measures.
Some upgrades require a home energy assessment, while others do not. Rebate amounts depend on the type of upgrade, energy source, approved products, and homeowner eligibility.
Eligible Insulation Upgrades May Include:
- Attic insulation upgrades
- Blown-in insulation
- Spray foam insulation
- Basement insulation
- Wall insulation improvements
- Energy efficiency insulation retrofits
Program requirements, qualifying upgrades, and rebate amounts may change over time. Reitzel Insulation does not administer the program and cannot guarantee rebate approval or eligibility.

Attic insulation upgrades are currently the primary focus of the program. While some additional insulation applications may qualify, homeowners should review the official program requirements for full eligibility details.
Eligible Insulation Upgrades May Include:
- Attic insulation upgrades

Federal Home Energy Programs
Canada Greener Homes Loan
The Canada Greener Homes Loan is a federal program providing interest-free loans to help homeowners finance eligible energy-efficient upgrades. This program is separate from Ontario utility rebates but may be used alongside provincial programs where permitted.
Loan approval, eligibility requirements, qualifying upgrades, and funding availability are determined by the Government of Canada and may change over time. Reitzel Insulation does not administer the Canada Greener Homes Loan program and cannot guarantee approval or eligibility.
Homeowners should review official federal program requirements directly before beginning a project.
Previously Available Programs
Some Ontario and federal home energy rebate programs offered in previous years are now closed to new applicants. These include earlier Enbridge and IESO rebate programs and the Canada Greener Homes Grant.
Program availability, timelines, and eligibility requirements are subject to change by the program administrators. Please refer to official government and utility program sources for the most current information.
